Osmo Polyx oil for wood floors is extremely resistant to wear, and at the same time, it is resistant to water, juices, wine, and dirt. It beautifully emphasizes the wood structure and is also often used to protect solid table tops and other furniture.

Osmo Polyx oil is also suitable for protecting children’s toys. This is guaranteed by the Certificate (Euro-Norm 1186 part 5/14). It is resistant to saliva and sweat. It is safe for humans, animals, and plants.

Osmo Polyx oil allows wooden surfaces to breathe. A properly oiled surface will not peel or crack.

All Osmo oils must be mixed well before use. We recommend mixing it with a wide, wooden stick. The wax at the bottom of the can should mix with the oil. The oil can also be dripped onto the surface with a stick and then stretched. Osmo Polyx Original oil is extremely economical, as the recommended oil application is only 35ml/m2.

We recommend that Polyx Original wood oil be applied to the surface twice. The oil dries for about 8-10 hours at a temperature of 23 degrees Celsius and 50% relative air humidity. Make sure that the room where the oiling takes place is well-ventilated. Before applying it to the workpiece, test the oil on a test piece. For surfaces that are less subject to wear, the oil can be applied only once.

Before the first application, the wood should be sanded with 120-grit sandpaper. The surface should be thoroughly cleaned, as the opening of the pores in the wood is crucial for effective protection. Before applying the second layer of parquet oil, you can sand the surface with 360-400 grit sandpaper or with ScotchBrite.

A roller, brush, or Osmo Felt can be used for application.

After drying, the surface is walkable. We recommend installing carpets on top of wood protection at least 10 days after the last application.

We do not recommend applying large amounts of oil.

Usage

If you want to coat surfaces already protected with varnish, it is necessary to completely sand off the varnish and clean it well. The surface must be completely free of dust. If possible, the surfaces should be blown with pressurized air so that the pores in the wood are open.

Osmo Polyx Original wood oil can be used to protect the following types of wood: Oak, maple, birch, pear, beech, alder, ash, spruce, pine, larch, pine, Robinia, and elm.

Apply very thinly on the following woods: Acacia, Bamboo, Smoked Oak, Eucalyptus, Kempas, Cherry, American Walnut, Merbau, Cork, Sanded OSB, Teak, and Walnut.

Osmo Polyx wood oil is not recommended for the protection of the following varieties: Wenge, rosewood, mahogany, iroko, jatoba, ipe, and Brazil walnut. We recommend using Wood Wax Extra Thin for them.
